Lake Maggiore

Discover the Charm of Lake Maggiore

Experience an unforgettable holiday on Lake Maggiore

The romantic lakeside promenades, gentle hills crowned by the Alpine chains, and the unique island area create a truly enchanting landscape. Each part of Lake Maggiore has its own distinctive character, coming together to form a breathtakingly beautiful and unique region. Conveniently connected to both Turin and Milan, this area is accessible yet still offers an escape into nature and elegance.

In the Verbania area, grand villas and historic residences are surrounded by lush greenery. The lakeshore is dotted with docks for boat connections, blending land, lake, and islands with magnificent estates, noble villas, exclusive hotels, and carefully tended gardens that reach to the water’s edge. Among the most beautiful is the enchanting Villa Pallavicino, built in the 19th century, and one of the top attractions in the town of Stresa.

Stresa is home to three of the four Borromean Islands, which feature numerous points of interest, both in terms of natural beauty and architectural significance. The mountainous area surrounding Stresa is famous for the ski resort at Mottarone (1,491 meters), recently renovated and reopened. From Mottarone’s summit, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views over the lake.

In Pallanza, in addition to admiring the islands, you’ll find remarkable buildings and monuments, including the ancient Palazzo del Pretorio, the 16th-century Church of San Lorenzo, the Cadorna Mausoleum, and Palazzo Dugnani from the 1700s, now home to the Verbano Historical Museum and the Museum of Landscape. Visitors can also explore Villa Taranto and its renowned botanical garden, a national park filled with exotic plants and open to the public.
