Sestriere

Your Perfect Vacation with ABC Group

Experience an unforgettable holiday in Sestriere

Since 1930, when Giovanni Agnelli, the founder of FIAT, purchased the land, Sestriere has evolved into an iconic destination. Agnelli built two hotels (known as the Towers) that showcase the Italian Rationalist style of the period, along with three cable cars connecting to Mount Sises, Banchetta, and Fraiteve. Throughout the 1930s, a new road, a ski jump, another hotel (the "Principi di Piemonte"), and a prestigious 18-hole golf course (the highest in Europe) were also added. This marked the beginning of Sestriere’s seasonal life, which only paused during the war years.

From 1967, Sestriere hosted Alpine Ski World Cup events, and in 1997 it was the venue for the World Ski Championships. In February 2006, it hosted the Alpine skiing competitions for the XX Winter Olympic Games.

Today, during winter, Sestriere is a true paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. With over 400 km of slopes connected by nearly 80 ski lifts, it ensures fun for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. But Sestriere is more than just skiing; it’s the ideal place for learning and practicing ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing, and ice skating, as well as for exploring snowshoe trails winding through beautiful natural landscapes.

In summer, Sestriere offers unforgettable experiences, rich with sights, scents, and surprises. The slopes become a magnificent setting for guided hikes and mountain biking, immersed in a landscape like no other. Road cyclists can relive the thrills of the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, pedaling along the same legendary routes. Sestriere is also a highly sought-after destination for altitude training among athletes.
